Julia Blake runs her own cleaning business. She has the unfortunate knack of getting herself involved in murder enquiries.
In this story, Julia helps out at the school fair for a local school. The new head teacher, Deborah Paignton has made herself unpopular by implementing changes to the school and continually upsetting members of staff.
Julia discovers the murdered body of Deborah Paignton after the fair has finished. She knows immediately there is more than one person who would have liked to see the end of Deborah.

A Fair Murder is another exciting cozy mystery in the Julia Blake series. Once again, the author gives us a book that does not disappoint! I don't remember how I discovered Gillian Larkin but I am glad that I did. Her writing just keeps getting better with each book.I enjoy all the characters involved with Julia. She seems to always discover a dead body and likes to solve it much to the dismay of the town detective. Julia has a caring family that you'll also love. They are down to earth people that also add humor to the story.
I definitely recommend this book and the entire series about Julia Blake. This is one that all cozy lovers should not miss!

This was a great cozy mystery! Although clues were distilled throughout, the guilty party still came as a surprise.
Perfect writing style and very good editing not a single error in sight. Nothing but gloriously well written text. Perfect.
I enjoyed the book and was surprised by the ending. I was looking for something light and quick and this completely met the requirements. I look forward to reading more of Ms Larkin's books.
These novels!! I know they aren't great literature but they are so enjoyable. The characters are lovable & fun & the storyline fun. Don't hesitate....meet these nice folks & curl up for a good read!
Julia is obviously old enough to have college-age children but you have given her the personality of a rather immature teenager...bursting into tears, shouting during a two-person conversation, etc. please, allow her to be a grown up! I finally gave up...too annoying.
In this book, Julia gets involved in a murder when she helps out at the school fair; the school where her mother works. No one likes the head teacher and there are lots of suspects. Unfortunately, most of the suspects are Julia's friends. She feels she has to get involved, even though the police tell her to stay out of it. Another good one in the series.
I'm in trouble now. This was my first book that I read about Julia Blake. I'm going to have to go back and read the first five books to catch up. I love cozy mysteries because they are light-hearted, a good mystery, a fast read, and usually make me laugh out loud at some point. This book hit all the high points. Gillian Larkin hit it right on the nose, and now has a new fan.
Julia Blake has her own cleaning business and she hired Cain an ex convict that was in jail for something he didn't do. Everyone that worked at the school there was having problems with the New Head Teacher Ms Paignton. They were having a Fair to raise money to help the school when they found Ms Paignton dead in her office. Now Julia was always involved with murder cases and this was no different, she got involved even though DI Clark told her to keep out of the police business.Lots happen to keep you trying to figure out who did it!!
